South Antrim Football League Round Up 07/01/12
THE South Antrim League received a boost when leaders, Ballymacash YM beat Amateur League local rivals, Suffolk 2-1 in the IFA Junior Cup round 3 and they deserved it too even though the goals came late from Johnny Bushe and Graham Phillips.
This followed on good Junior Cup and Shield runs by Braniel YM, who beat Lambeg Star 5-0 in the Premier division on Saturday.
Richard Bell hit four of the Ashfield Athletic goals when they shared ten goals with Belvoir FC and Sporting Lisburn won 2-1 away to Ballynafeigh YM. Lambeg Rangers and Glaston officials pleaded with the referee to allow the match to continue after he had abandoned it following a bad tackle..
In Division 1, Roseville surprised Moira Albion II 2-0, Sporting Lisburn II and Warren YM II drew 2-2, Colin Valley III won 2-1 away to Glenavy III and First Lisburn came back from three goals down to level with three penalties before winning 5-3 against nine men, Braniel YM II.
