The Supplementary Plate final between Warren YM and First Lisburn ended with a new name on the trophy as Warren emerged victorious. Both sides fielded strong teams with Lunn being the only regular missing for First and Warren YM boasting a strong side following the breakdown of their first team earlier in the season. A large crowd turned out at the Bog Road to see an exciting match which Warren just shaded in the end to claim victory.

Neither side was able to get into any rhythm in the first twenty minutes, but both sides looked dangerous. Warren's forwards were asking plenty of questions of the First defense, and the Eastwood pairing up front were causing of problems on the counter attack for First. However, the game was held up when First left back Ryan Woodburn fell awkwardly after an aerial challenge. He was unable to continue and was taken to hospital where it was confirmed he suffered a broken tibia. Both teams wish Ryan all the best in his recovery.

It was Warren who took the lead in dubious circumstances when the referee awared a penalty for an innocuous challenge by Matt Murphy on his opposite number from a corner. The penalty was converted and First had to pick themselves up to prevent going further behind. First drew into the game and Luke Eastwood missed a good chance to score before equalising five minutes before the half. The Warren goalkeeper spilled a floated free kick and after Des Eastwood's shot was blocked, Luke was there to tap home into an empty net. Scores level at the break.

The second half started in a similar vein to the first, with neither side able to dominate. Warren retook the lead when subsitute Whittle fouled his winger in the box and a penalty was awarded. At first glance it looked like Whittle played the ball, but the general consenus was the correct decision had been made. Warren's lead was short lived, as McErlean swung a cross in from the left and Luke Eastwood stole in unmarked at the back post to head First level. That was his 30th goal in 30 games in a remarkable season for the striker. Simpson and Phillips both had chances to put First ahead, but it was Warren who snatched victory with 10 minutes to go. After a corner was initially cleared the ball was played back into the box and where the Warren player was left unmarked six yards out to acrobatically volley past the helpless Croft.

First lifted themselves and pushed for an equaliser but the exertions of recent weeks had taken their toll on the players. In the end First simply ran out of steam and Warren ran out deserved winners. All in all it's been a fantastic season for the young team, who can look forward to testing themselves in the Premier Division next season after clinching promotion last week.
