Lincoln awarded 3 points despite losing 2-0
So I am sure we all have heard that Lincoln have been awarded the 3 points after City Colts beat them 2-0 a few weeks back. For anyone who doesn't know the background, City Colts brought on a player in the 88th minute while they were leading 2-0. The player was registered to play for the club, but was accidentally left off the teamsheet.
A simple admin error which has proved costly to City Colts.www.magherastrollers.com

Did it affect the result at all? I'd be inclined to say it didn't considering it happened in the 88th minute and you's failed to score anyway. Fair enough, City Colts maybe deserved to lose the 3 points but don't see the justice in gifting you boys the 3 points when you's were well beat.
Tins of brasso all round for your necks.

Bunch of crying hures, thats all they are, surely after 88 mins common sense would tell any panel or committee that the other team had no chance of winning the game by then, fair enough the colts made the mistake of leaving 'their own signed' player of the sheet but to award a team who was getting beat fairly up until then the points, without even scoring at that pont - ABSOLUTE JOKE!Congrats to the REAL whinging Courts and the league runner for grabbing 3 points fomr a LOSS, take a bow!P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C comes to mind easily!

i'm only on this site once every 4-5 months so you'll understand why i'm only replying to this now. This stinks of pure desperation by lincoln courts, they were unable to beat city colts on the pitch so their manager (also League Secretary) decided to pull a few strings and switch the result and get the points awarded to courts. It was an Admin error by the colts, but the ref also has share as much of the blame as he should have seen this when the sub was being made and not aloud it. Because of the fact that the entire blame doesn't lie with the colts i feel it was harsh that they suffered the punishment they did. They prob put in a great shift to beat linclon and never got their just rewards. Shit does happen

The player was NOT a ringer. He is Paddy McAllister, signed City Colts player for years, and is well known to the Lincoln manager. His name was not down on teamsheet as he arrived at the match after the game had started. So technically we broke the rule about playing a player who was not down on the match card. Fined & deducted 3 points. A harsh lesson learned.
These are the facts.
