Newtown Forest 2-6 43rd OB

Great to get back to winning ways and I thought it was a great first half from us as we raced into a 5-0 nil lead (wee Paul with a hatrick and kirker with 2). Forest never really troubled us 1st half at all as we had most of the possession and created most of the chances...we scored 5 and if it wasnt for their keeper we should have had a few more. As good as we were 1st half I thought we were sloppy 2nd half and credit to Forest who never give up and came at us and got their reward with 2 goals about 10/15 mins into 2nd half. Both teams had chances to add more goals but we eventually added a 6th near the end of the game to run out convincing winners in the end.

Best of luck to Forest for the remainder of the season and like I said before its good to get back to winning ways for us with an overall good performance to go with it. On to Ballygowan next week which is a big game between the top 2 sides so looking forward to that!!!

Tony scored. Paul didn't touch the one with the header at te back post. Although I told him to claim it lol. Well done Newtown Forrest where one of our harder games last time we played them. But we had a point to prove today and 1st half were excellent. 1st to every 1st n second ball. On to the next one :)

Yea mark get it rite mate Paul stole one of my goals with a diving header but did not take the next one though I should have scored another anyway, great performance 1st half and towards the end of the second bring on ballygowan nxt Saturday looking forward to it, the. Kelly's to celebrate a win hopefully

Nobody on the sidelines was sure mate and it looked like Paul claimed it and Tony didnt really celebrate to be honest as if he scored. Billy has it down that Paul scored a hattrick. Maybe TDC will be on later to clear it up.....

Not that it matters to be honest as we got the 3 points that took us back top of the league with the 3rd Bangor v North Down & Ballygowan v Queens games called off today!!!

on a side note good to see you wee paul and kirker scoring today...3 new additions to the club this season have been brilliant so far for us!!!

I agree mate along with the others I mentioned he has been a very good addition to the club. he offers us something different up front with his pace and he has had a good 1st half of the season for us so hopefully he can keep it up. Will be a loss not having him (along with 2 other 1st team players) there for the big game next week.
