For next season I will be testing a text service to help update @nifootball twitter page with live match scores. This service will enable all non twitter users to send a text to me with the match score. It should also help with getting the score out there when you can't get twitter connected but can still text. I can then update all the twitter members about your teams score.

If service proves successful I should be able to have a live score page on the site with regular updates of all the scores.

Club Admin

Once again I hope to have the club admin back to where it was a couple of seasons ago. With limited funds and resources I have been unable to import much of the club admin into the new site. But thanks to a new plugin I am now able to offer users of the site the ability once again to update their club and team details.

You will be able to edit and update individual club and team details like colours, pitch, twitter and facebook accounts. You can also add player details, this will enable you to record even more information i.e. team sheets, subs and goals.

Each team will then have a record of how many games, goals each player has for that season.

To sign up simply register on the site, and once you have logged in at least once, fill in this request form. I will then enable your account to access the relevant control panel.

Intermediate Division

With no games played Saturday it’s time to have a look at how teams who appear to be in the best position for league honours at the end of the season. No doubt Cup games will play an important part and as the season progresses this could have an effect on results. Presently Magherafelt Sky Blues top the league table and are still in the O’Gorman Cup. Newtowne are undefeated in the league and are currently 2nd in the table are still very much alive in the IFA Intermediate Cup as well as the McReynolds, Crawford and O’Gorman Cups. Brantwood who have played the same number of league games as Newtowne are still in the McReynolds and Crawford Cups. Desertmartin who have played a league game more than both Newtowne and Brantwood are still in the O’Gorman and Crawford Cups. Dunloy are still in the McReynolds and Crawford Cups but have dropped ten league points up to now. Though the betting people would probably put their money on Newtowne, Brantwood or Desertmartin could see Magherafelt as the party poppers as the old saying goes a bird in hand is worth two in the bush.

	Junior Division One

Ballyclare Comrades Reserves are back defending their title and still undefeated and are closely followed by Tobermore United Reserves, Desertmartin swifts and Cookstown Olympic. Ballyclare appear to have the edge at present but will do very well to go through the season undefeated. Similar to the Intermediate Division Cup games could play an important role in the final run in for the title. The Comrades are still in the Linda Welshman Cup and Canada Trophy as is Tobermore United Res and Desertmartin Swifts. Cookstown Olympic are in the Crawford Cup and Canada Trophy and it would appear to be a level playing field at present. No doubt a number of other teams will be looking to strengthen their positions and a capable of taking points from any team.

	Junior Division Two

Woodlands are currently setting the pace at the top of the table with Castle Star, Chimney Corner Res, 1st Mossley YM and York Road Loughside ‘A’ in hot pursuit. York Road are undefeated in eight games and are still competing in the Irish Junior Cup as well as the Crawford Cup, Linda Welshman Memorial Cup and Canada Trophy. Chimney Corner are competing in the Crawford Cup, Linda Welshman Memorial Cup and Canada Trophy while Castle Star and 1st Mossley YM are still in the Linda Welshman memorial Cup and Canada Trophy. Again Cup runs could be decisive in the run in for the league title.

	Junior Division Three

Cookstown RBL sit in the driving seat at present but Rathcoole, FC Whiteabbey, Ballysillan Swifts and York Road Loughside ‘B’ are hot on their heels. Like the other divisions Cup runs could be a possible determining factor in the run in for the league title. York Road with their ‘A’ team competing in the cups leaves than a free run for league games. Cookstown are still in the Crawford Cup and Canada Trophy while FC Whiteabbey play in the Crawford Cup and Canada Trophy. Rathcoole have the easier cup run being only in the Canada Trophy.

NI Football Site News

Its been a while since I updated you all on whats been going on with the site, but with the recent addition of David to the NI Football family I have had my hands full. One thing I had been working on was the redevelopment of how the stats on the site where compiled and displayed. Last season the site had quite a few problems with this part of the site and seariously needed an overhaul.

Over the summer I had been exploring several options and had been in contact with several developers. Unfortunately nothing came from those and luckily for me as I stumbled across a plugin that used some of the original code I had been using a few years ago. I have now modified the main parts of this to suit NI Football's needs and from today I have started to use this new code.

You will see some slight changes in the url's of the fixtures and standings pages but hopefully nothing that will affect browsing the site. Also with the new code I was able to bring in the stats that I had on the original site from when it started. SO we now have historical data back to 2006 when I first started. There are many of these seasons though that I need to check over as some of the fixtures and results appear to be missing.

The main leagues and divisions should all be right up to date with the results and I am currently working on the Leagues Cups. I have started adding in the results for Cups like the Irish Junior and Senior Cups so please give me some time to add these.

I will have made some mistakes during the updating stage so please if you see any mistakes in results, i.e. scores, any missing results even spelling mistakes in team names please drop me and email scott.boyde@nifootball.co.uk.

This new system will make it easier for me to update the fixtures and results so you can get the updates quicker. It will also enable me to provide better stats and over the next few weeks will be adding match previews so you can see how your opponents have been doing. I am working on the player stats that I had on the site a couple of years back and will be looking for someone to help me test this, so if you have team sheets etc please drop me an email.

If when using the new pages you see any errors or you think it is not working as expected again please drop me and email so I can get it fixed asap.

	Many Thanks

	Scott

BALLYMACASH YM clinched their second trophy of the season when they added the Supplementary Cup to the League title with a 3-1 win over Lambeg Rangers in the final. Graham Phillips put the Young Men ahead but Ryan Nixon equalised before half-time. Lambeg had the ball in the net again but the goal was disallowed and 20 minutes from time Chris Richmond restored the Ballymacash lead and substitute, Simon Hull, added the third.

South Antrim stayed on course for promotion from Division 1 when the only goal from Simon Freeburn in the second-half gave them victory over Lambeg Rangers II but Ballymacash YM II were held to a 3-3 draw despite Kenny Magill scoring twice at home to Orangefield OB III - a result which damages Ballymacash's title hopes.

Chris Barnes scored twice in Moira Albion II's 3-2 win away to Braniel YM II and Craig Walker scored in the last minute to give Belvoir FC II a 3-3 home draw with Dunmurry Inn.

In Division 1 on Saturday two goals in the opening five minutes from Luke Eastwood helped First Lisburn to a nervous 3-2 victory over Braniel YM II to stay top, while Colin Valley III beat Ballymacash YM II 2-1, thanks to a penalty miss by the Young Men with the last kick.
